The aim of the programme in midwifery is to prepare registered nurses to become competent midwives and to assist the country in addressing maternal and infant health guided by global and national frameworks . The midwife will be competent to render comprehensive health care to a woman and her family from conception to birth in order to promote health and reduce mother and infant morbidity and mortality. This programme has five modules as follow:

  • Module 1: Ante-natal Care;
  • Module 2: Labour and Child Birth;
  • Module 3: Neonatal Care;
  • Module 4: Other Laboratory Diagnostic Methods for Malaria
  • Module 5: Research
